David has been carving since 1964, and has done that exclusively since that time. After the death of his father, and unable to get any formal education, he proceeded to Lagos where he met Mrs. Edwards Odagboro who became his master and trained him in the carving profession.
The desire to differentiate my work from other carvers. In my long years as an artist I have seen original work being copied and it became common. In my desire to maintain originality in my work I came up with other designs.
